How good is the Sungrow SBH battery?

We installed a Sungrow SBH battery at this Lawnton home, paired with a 15.4kW Canadian Solar array and a Sungrow hybrid 15kW three-phase inverter.

The battery unit consists of x6 Sungrow 5kWh LFP battery modules to store up to 30kWh of energy storage for the home to use overnight, during power outages, or to offset peak usage times.
We've generated some data so you can look and judge how well the Sungrow SBH battery performs. This data has been retrieved from Sungrow's monitoring platform, iSolarCloud.
This is a snapshot of a regular 24-hour (sunny day, temperate night) period in Brisbane, QLD and how this home's system performed in these conditions.
The orange curve tells us how much solar energy has been generated throughout the day. The purple curves indicate any grid electricity being bought from the grid or solar energy being exported to the grid. The large amount of solar export was due to the batteries being fully charged and the house was already 100% offset by the solar generation.

The light blue line indicates where the battery has been charged or discharged. You can see that by 10 am, the battery was fully charged and it only began to discharge from 4:30 pm when the sun began to set. The battery powered the home all night before recharging the next day.
You'll notice that the light blue line almost perfectly meets the yellow line, which is the energy load required by the home at any given time.
This graph makes it clear that the battery is effectively powering the home with solar energy overnight and that very minimal grid electricity must be bought. Essentially, this proves that the Sungrow SBH battery has reduced this homeowner's bill down to almost $0.

While the above graph demonstrates that the Sungrow SBH battery is effective, it also proves that a high-quality solar energy system and hybrid inverter are critical for ensuring overall success.
Pairing the Sungrow SBH battery with a Sungrow hybrid inverter is the most assured way to get the most value out of your system. You will also want to ensure that your solar energy system is large enough to be able to offset your usage during the day and still charge the battery to 100% ready for overnight use.
