Bracken Ridge Powerwall 3 + Expansion Packs

Located on Brisbane’s northside, this two-storey home recently expanded its Tesla Powerwall 3 system. Three Tesla 13.5kWh Expansion Packs were installed alongside the master Tesla Powerwall 3, to increase storage capacity from the original 13.5kWh to a whopping 54kWh. 

This home is self-sufficient, with extremely limited power being drawn from the grid. The system expansion has resulted in a negligible electricity bill and a high degree of energy independence. 

Tesla Powerwall 3 offered the ideal solution for this two-storey single-phase home in Bracken Ridge. Powerwall 3 offers 13.5kWh of storage capacity per unit, and the Tesla Gateway offers whole-home backup protection in the event of a blackout. 

This customer always intended to expand their system once the Powerwall 3 Expansion Packs became available. They wished to future-proof their home for the electrification of everything and sought a reliable way to power their home in the event of a blackout without resorting to noisy generators. 

12kW of Canadian Solar 465W N-type TOPCon solar panels were installed on the roof of this home to charge the 54kWh of battery storage before mid-morning, every morning. The system works like a well-oiled machine, with evening power usage and overnight air conditioning depleting the batteries by 30% nightly, before the solar tops up the charge once the sun rises. 

In the event of a multi-day blackout, this home would continue to be powered for over a week should the customer be smart with their energy usage. As we enter the summer storm season, this system is going to be a lifesaver as we start to see more blackouts impact Brisbane.
