Where to use it
Designed for 4WDs, caravans, camper trailers, motorhomes, and boats where you need to reliably charge a secondary 12V house or auxiliary battery from a 12V starter battery. It is especially suited for modern vehicles with smart alternators and setups requiring electrical isolation between starter and auxiliary battery banks.
How to use it
Install the Victron Orion-Tr Smart Charger between your vehicle’s starter battery and auxiliary battery using the supplied 8m 10mm² twin cable protected by the split conduit. Fit the 40A manual reset circuit breaker inline near the starter battery for protection.
Use the 10mm² cable lugs and heat shrink to terminate all connections cleanly. Connect to the charger via Bluetooth using the VictronConnect app on your phone or tablet to select the correct charging algorithm for your battery type (AGM, Gel, Flooded, or Lithium LiFePO4) and view real-time charging status.
