Lithium batteries use lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) chemistry to store and release energy. They work by moving lithium ions between the positive and negative electrodes during charging and discharging. If you’re unsure, check that your DC-DC charger, solar controller, or mains charger has a LiFePO₄ mode to optimise charging and maximise battery life.

A high-quality lithium battery can last 10–15 years or more, depending on usage and environment. Most offer 2,000–5,000+ charge cycles, meaning you can enjoy years of dependable power for camping, boating, or off-grid living and can far outlast traditional lead-acid batteries.
