ANL fuses:
The ANL fuse is the most common fuse in car audio systems and is often found in marine applications. These fuses range in size from 35 amps up to 750 amps. The ANL Fuse is designed to protect the positive wire to your loads such as an inverter or a battery charger. The ANL fuse is a flat shape with two different shaped metal prongs on either end which gets bolted into the fuse holder. The holder has two screws which are used to fasten the holder in place. A set screw and bushing in the holder keep the power line in place.
If you need to replace an ANL fuse, it is very important to replace it with a fuse of the exact same amperage. A different rated fuse will likely cause serious electrical damage. Fuses are relatively inexpensive to replace. ANL limiter fuses consist of a metal strip from a lock plate, for currents over 40 amperes. Frequently, these are used in close proximity to starter battery fuse boxes. They are used also in electric vehicles, e.g., in forklift trucks. Because strip fuses require the use of tools for replacement they are therefore legally considered non-serviceable components for end-users.
Features:
- Ignition protected (conforming to SAE J1171)- safe for installation aboard gasoline powered boats (35-500 Amp only)
- Silver-plated connector blades for corrosion resistance
- Visible indication of blown condition
- 6,000 Ampere Interrupt Capacity (AIC) satisfies ABYC requirements for main DC circuit protection on large battery banks
- For use with Blue Sea Systems' ANL Fuse Blocks
