ANL fuses are designed for high-current DC applications, offering reliable protection for electrical systems in 4WDs, caravans, boats, and off-grid setups. They’re ideal for protecting batteries, inverters, DC-DC chargers, and other large power circuits from overloads and short circuits.
While both ANL and AMG/Mega fuses handle high current loads, ANL fuses are slightly larger and often feature a clear inspection window so you can easily see if the fuse has blown. AMG/Mega fuses have a more compact design. Both perform the same function and choosing between them usually depends on your fuse holder style or space constraints.
Choose an ANL fuse rated slightly higher than your circuit’s maximum continuous current draw but within the safe limits of your cabling and connected devices. For example, a 100A circuit should typically use a 125A fuse. Always match the fuse to both your wire size and the load for safe operation.
No, ANL fuses are single-use protection devices. Once they blow, they must be replaced with a new fuse of the same amperage rating. Always keep spare fuses on hand for quick replacement when travelling or operating remote systems.
Yes. ANL fuses are commonly used in marine, caravan, and off-road setups, but they should be installed in a sealed or splash-proof fuse holder to protect against water, salt, and dirt. Using a high-quality holder helps ensure long-term reliability in harsh Australian conditions.
