Where to use it

The Alvolta Luna-H 150V 70A MPPT Solar Controller is built to handle the serious roof arrays found on large caravans, motorhomes, and expedition trucks, turning a full day of sun into a fully charged battery bank. Compatible with 12/24/36/48V systems and rated for 920 - 3680 W of solar input, it suits long-range touring rigs, coaches, trucks, and other builds with big energy demands. It supports parallel configurations, so you can add extra units should you require it. Its 150 V input lets you run longer series strings, keeping cable sizes sensible on long runs from the roof.

Its wall-mount chassis and built-in LCD suit an electrical cabinet, bulkhead, or battery bay where you can read solar voltage, charge current, and error codes at a glance. It's rated IP32, so it needs a dry, ventilated spot out of direct sun and rain. Built-in Bluetooth lets you monitor charging and fine-tune settings through the Alvolta app, and a programmable relay can switch an alarm or other gear when battery voltage goes out of range. Made for harsh Australian conditions, the Alvolta Luna-H 150V 70A MPPT Solar Controller is backed by a 3-year warranty.

Luna-H controllers are the heavy-duty option in the Alvolta MPPT range, built for large off-grid solar systems and high demand setups. With a 150V solar input, up to 70A of charging current, and support for parallel configurations, they handle big arrays that other controllers can't. Every model has a built-in LCD display and Bluetooth monitoring through the Alvolta app.

All Luna-H controllers work with 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V systems. They have presets for lithium (LiFePO4), sealed lead-acid, gel and flooded lead-acid batteries. If the presets don't suit your battery, a user-defined option lets you set custom charging parameters through the Alvolta app.

Choose based on your array size and system voltage. The 60A model suits up to 800W at 12V, 1600W at 24V or 3200W at 48V, and the 70A model suits up to 920W, 1840W or 3680W. For larger arrays, multiple Luna-H controllers can be run in parallel. Always check that your array's open circuit voltage stays below 150V.

Mount the controller in a well-ventilated spot out of direct sunlight, leaving at least 150mm clear above and below for cooling. Connect the battery first, with a fuse fitted within 150mm of the battery terminal. Check that the indicator lights up, then connect the solar panels.

No. Luna-H controllers are IP32 rated, so they aren't weatherproof and should be installed in a sheltered location away from direct sunlight and rain. They're rated to operate from -35°C to +65°C, with no power derating up to 40°C, so they're built for Australian conditions.
