With Australia’s superstar swimmer, Ariarne Titmus, bringing home golds from the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, Springers Solar revisits the solar installation we completed for the Titmus family home in 2021.
After moving to Queensland from Tasmania to support Ariarne’s swimming career, the family decided to take advantage of Queensland’s year-long sunshine and install a solar system.
Steve Titmus was eager to offset their energy usage and reduce electricity bills to support Ariarne’s journey to the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Though sceptical of the benefits of solar initially, after chatting with Springers Solar director, Eddie Springer, Steve felt confident that a solar system was worth the investment when considering bill reduction, the payback period, and component warranties.
Eddie, alongside our in-house solar PV designers and electrical engineers, designed an 8.6kW solar system to offset daytime power consumption. 22 x 390W Trina Vertex S panels were selected for their reliability to maintain high efficiency for decades to come. The panels were paired with an 8kW Sungrow Three Phase Inverter for maximum energy output for home use.

All selected components have comprehensive and lengthy warranty protection to provide the Titmus family peace of mind that their system will continue to offset their bills for years to come. The Trina solar panels provide a 15-year product warranty and a 25-year performance warranty and the Sungrow Three Phase Inverter comes equipped with a 12-year parts and labour warranty. Complemented with Springers Solar’s 10-year workmanship warranty, Steve and his family are assured that the system is protected by one of Queensland’s longest-standing and most experienced solar companies.
Since the installation was completed in this time last year in July 2021, Steve has saved a total of $1,914 from his electricity bills. The system will continue to save Steve approximately $2,000 per annum for years to come.
With this system producing approximately 12.2MWh of solar energy every year, the residence will continue to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 10 tonnes annually.
